Two Elderlies and Child in Killed in Deir ez-Zor Province
Three civilians, two elderly individuals, and a child were killed, and others were wounded in the rocket exchange between the Syrian regime forces and Iranian militias on one side, and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) on the other, in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor Province, northeastern Syria, on Monday morning (6/11/2023).
Social media networks mourned the elderly individuals, “Abdullah Hasan Al-Alwani Al-Shibli” and “Ismail Khaluf Hamadi Al-Shahir,” who were killed due to the shelling of mortar shells fired by the SDF militia on the homes of civilians in the city of “Al-Mayadin” to the east of Deir ez-Zor city.
On the other hand, the child “Abd al-Raouf Ubaid Al-Khalaf” was killed as a result of the targeting of civilians’ homes in the town of “Hawayij Dhiban” by the Assad regime forces and Iranian militias with mortar shells, which also resulted in losses in the properties of civilians.
The Syrian Human Rights Committee (SHRC) strongly condemns the targeting of civilians and calls for an immediate ceasefire and the withdrawal of Iranian, Russian, and foreign militias, as well as the implementation of international resolutions and the prosecution of criminals involved in killing Syrians, destroying their homes, and displacing them.”
