Children and women killed while targeting drug traffickers

The Jordanian Air Force carried out today an operation against drug trafficking in southern Syria, which has been controlled by the Assad regime since 2018. The bombing resulted in the killing of drug dealer Marei Al-Ruwaishid Al-Ramthan, his wife and his six children.

While the Syrian Human Rights Committee appreciates the Jordanian efforts in combating drug dealers, smugglers, and promoters, it strongly denounces targeting civilians during the exchange of fire or pursuing criminals, and affirms the right of every human being to life and safety, considering children, wives and family members of criminals are innocent and cannot be targeted either in their lives or morally.
