Monthly Victims report – April 2023
The Syrian Human Rights Committee documented the killing of (117) people in Syria during the month of April 2023, including (9) children and (8) women, and (1) died as a result of health negligence in prison.
The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) were responsible for the killing of (4) people, and the regime forces were responsible for the killing of (3) people, while the opposition factions were responsible for the killing of two people.
SHRC documented the killing of (59) people who were assassinated by unknown persons, including the victims of 3 massacres, the first in the Dwezen area in Hama, in which (14) people were killed, and the second in Jabal Al-Amor near Al-Sukhna in Homs governorate, in which (13) people were killed. And the third in the town of Buqrus in Deir Ezzor governorate, in which (6) people were killed. SHRC also documented the death of (36) people due to landmine explosions.
Deir Ezzor governorate topped the rest of the governorates in terms of the number of victims, reaching (38) people, followed by the governorates of Hama and Daraa with (20) people each, and then Homs governorate with (16) people.
The total number of victims in Aleppo governorate was (10) people, (8) people in Al-Hasakah governorate, (3) people in Idlib governorate, and (1) in each of the capital Damascus and Raqqa governorate.
