Media activist in Idlib threatened to break his hands

Photographer and media activist Ahmed Nihad al-Haj Zaidan revealed, in a post on his Facebook site, that he had received a threat from the security official of the “Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham” faction in the city of Sarmin in Idlib countryside, by directly breaking his hands, accusing him of criticising the HTS and its security apparatus on social media..

The areas under the control of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham suffer from a severe limitation of media freedoms and public freedoms, with the spread of security and corruption in the ranks of the militia affiliated with Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham.
