Assad regime targets Idlib countryside with heavy artillery

18-January-2023 By shrc_admin

Today, Wednesday (18-1-2-23), the forces of the Assad regime and its loyal militias escalated their artillery and missile bombardment of villages and towns in Jabal Al-Zawiya, south of Idlib, causing the death of a civilian and wounding others in the town of Al-Bara, and the displacement of families from neighbouring villages towards areas north of Idlib. .

The regime forces targeted more than 20 villages and towns in Idlib countryside, including Kansafra, Kafr Aweed, Sufuhin, Majdalia, San and Deir Sunbul. The Jabal Al-Zawiya region witnessed an intense flight of reconnaissance planes.

The Syrian Human Rights Committee condemns the renewed bombing of Syrian villages and towns, causing killing, wounding and displacing civilians, and calls for stopping these practices and respecting people’s rights to their lives and to live peacefully in their homes.
