SHRC documents the killing of 97 people
The Syrian Human Rights Committee (SHRC) documented the killing of (97) people in Syria during the month of August 2022, including: (25) children, (4) women, and (6) people who were killed under torture, including a child.
The Syrian regime forces were responsible for the killing of (14) people, and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) were responsible for the killing of (5) people, while the Ahrar al-Sharqiya faction was responsible for the death of one person, and ISIS was responsible for the death of one person as well. One person was also killed by Turkish border guards (gendarmerie) while trying to infiltrate across the Syrian-Turkish border.
SHRC documented the killing of (31) people as a result of the assassination by unknown persons, (11) people due to explosions of landmines, and (7) people due to explosions of IEDs and the remnants of bombing.
Aleppo governorate topped the rest of the governorates in terms of the number of victims, with (36) people, followed by Daraa governorate with (22) people, and then Idlib governorate with (15) people.
The total number of victims in Deir ez-Zor governorate was (11) people, (7) people in Al-Hasakah governorate, (3) people in Rif Dimashq governorate, (2) people in Raqqa governorate, and (1) person in Hama governorate.
