The Lebanese security services arrested the Syrian refugee Hussein Jumaa in Baalbek and handed him over to the Syrian regime army at one of the border points. The aforementioned refugee is a soldier who deserted his military service in order not to get involved in the killing of his countrymen and he was working in agriculture when he was arrested by the Lebanese army.
Before that, the Lebanese authorities arrested over thirty Syrian youths while trying to immigrate to Europe and on December 13, 2019, handed them over to the Syrian regime.
The Syrian Human Rights Committee notes the dangerous approach that the Lebanese authorities are adopting towards the Syrian refugees, exposing them to the most severe dangers, and calls on the international community to take urgent measures that prevent them from deporting them and handing them over to the Syrian regime to imprison, torture and forcibly disappear them, especially since some Lebanese officials are involved in incitement against the refugees, in addition to the close security cooperation between the Syrian regime and the Lebanese Hezbollah, which is involved in the war against the Syrian people.
