Syrian youth killed by stray bullets in Lebanon

6-December-2020 By shrc_admin

Youth Muhammad Khaled al-Shamali

The Syrian youth “Muhammad Khaled Al-Shamali” was killed in the city of Baalbek, Lebanon, after being hit by a “stray” bullet during a clash between the “Al-Solh” and “Al-Wehbi” families, in which machine guns and rocket-propelled grenades were used, according to Lebanese media. The young man came from the city of Zabadani in the countryside of Damascus (Rif Dimashq governorate). He died instantly on the spot and his body was taken to Dar Al-Amal University Hospital.

The Syrian Human Rights Committee condemns the reckless use of weapons that cause the killing of civilians. It also points out that the blood of the Syrians was being taken away by some groups and politicians of Lebanese society. SHRC calls for an investigation into the case and compensation for the victims’ family.
