Civilians from Deir ez-Zor flee the attacks of SDF
The Syrian Human Rights Committee (SHRC) strongly condemns the barbaric killings and displacement carried out by the militias of the so-called “Syria Democratic Forces” (SDF) supported by the international coalition and its war machine against defenceless civilians, women, children and the elderly in the provinces of Deir ez-Zor and al-Hasakah under the cover of the so-called “war on terror” or (pursuit and liquidation of ISIS).
The barbaric acts carried out by these American-backed Kurdish dominant militias contain additional agendas that are identical to those of Bashar al-Assad’s regime, in killing and terrorising the defenceless population, and forcing them to leave their homes to carry out demographic changes. What these militias aim to achieve in killing and displacing the majority Arab component is to replace them with a Kurdish component that does not belong to the region.
SHRC is shocked by the silence of human rights organisations, especially the Syrian ones, who should be at the forefront of defending the lives and dignity of civilians in times of war and crisis.
SHRC calls for the immediate cessation of the killing and displacement of civilians, women, children, the elderly and non-combatants, respect for the human right to life, the right to housing, the right to live in and not to be deprived of one’s territory and the right to live in safety and not to be subjected to “false” assumptions to change the nature of the region. This is what has been agreed upon by the international human rights laws but violated and disrespected by the coalition countries and their proxy Syria’s democratic forces.
SHRC also calls on the international human rights organisations to investigate the crimes and grave violations committed by these militias, which are armed and protected by the United States of America.
