The death toll in Syria on Thursday 09/03/2017 reached 69 deaths including four children, five women, and one killed under torture.
In Deir Azzour, 21 civilians were killed, 18 in Russian shelling targeting al-Mayadeen, three executed at the hands of ISIS under charges of smuggling civilians outside of ISIS areas and associating with Shiite militias.
In Idlib, 16 civilians were killed, 15 in shelling on Kafr Nabil and Kansfara, and one in clashes with government forces.
Aleppo witnessed the killings of 11 civilians, eight in Russian shelling on Daara Azza, and three executed at the hands of ISIS.
Furthermore, nine died in rural Damascus; six in shelling on Humuriya, one shot by a sniper in Barza neighbourhood, one found killed with signs of torture after he was kidnapped for 15 days by Hezbollah militia, and one in clashes with government forces. In addition, four civilians were killed in Daraa in clashes with government forces.
The killings of four civilians were documented in Hama; two in shelling, one in clashes with government forces, and one in international alliance shelling in Ar-Raqqah. The killings of two civilians were documented in Al-Hassaka, one in clashes with government forces and the other executed at the hands of ISIS.
The Syrian Human Rights Committee documented the killing of a civilian as a result of shelling on the village of al-Za’faranu (Homs), and another from Jabla (Al-Latakia) under torture in a government prison.
