Daily Report on Violations of Human Rights in Syria: 23/12/2016

The death toll in Syria on Friday 23/12/2015 reached 54 deaths including seven children, nine women, and one killed under torture.

Aleppo witnessed the killings of 24 civilians; six publicly executed at the hands of regime forces in al-Sakhour neighbourhood, six in mortar shelling on the western neighbourhoods of Aleppo, five migrants from eastern neighbourhoods died due to the severe cold weather at one of the camps near Saraqib, three in clashes with government forces, a women at the hands of the regime in her home during a targeted theft, a civilian at the hands of armed men in Jarablis, and two in artillery shelling and Turkish airstrikes on al-Baab.

In rural Damascus, 13 civilians were killed; ten in shelling on the village and towns of Wadi Barda, and three in clashes with government forces. In addition, two died in Damascus, one found in a vault in Al-Haal market (Damascus) after he was missing for more than 20 days, and the other shot by a regime sniper.

Furthermore, seven died in Ar-Raqqah; four in shelling on the village of Ja’bar, two in a landmine explosion, and one in international alliance shelling.

In addition, six died in Deir Azzour, five in shelling on the village of Hatla, and one due to the siege imposed by ISIS on al-Jura neighbourhood.

The killings of two civilians were documented in Daraa, one publicly executed at the hands of government forces, and the other under torture in a regime prison. The killing of a civilian was also documented in previous shelling on Ma’rrat al-No’maan (Idlib).
