A convoy of humanitarian aid from the United Nations and the Red Cross and Crescent has entered the town of Madaya and the city of al-Zabadani in rural Damascus. This is whilst another convoy entered al-Fou’ah and Kafraya in northern rural Idlib.
The convoy which entered Madaya was made up of 60 trucks containing 8000 food baskets and 8000 bags of flour in addition to medical aid. Al-Zabadani received 2000 food baskets.
One food basket contains: 5kg of sugar, 5kg of chickpeas, 8kg of lentils, 3kg of beans, 9kg of bulgur, 6 litres of oil, and 10kg of rice.
The town of Madaya and the city of al-Zabadani have been subjected to a complete siege by Lebanese Hizbollah militias since mid 2015.
