The Targeting of the Medical and Relief Sector in August 2016

The Syrian Human Rights Committee (SHRC) documented the targeting of 11 hospitals and medical centres in August 2016, four of which were in rural Damascus, three in Aleppo, three in Homs, and one in Idlib. In addition, a directorate for health in the province of Idlib was targeted.

SHRC also documented the continuation of the targeting of the relief and emergency services sector, with three members of the civil defence killed during last month, two of which were in Aleppo and one in rural Damascus. Three civil defence centres- all of which were in rural Damascus- were also targeted.

SHRC also documented the targeting of four ambulances: two in Aleppo and two in Idlib.
