Daily Report on Violations of Human Rights in Syria: 22/08/2016

The death toll in Syria on Monday 22/08/2016 reached 67 deaths including 14 children, 11 women, and one killed under torture.

Aleppo witnessed the killings of 34 civilians; 25 in shelling on al-Sukari and al-Ansari and al-Mada’in, the towns of Andan, Urum al-Kubra and Kafr Naha (rural Aleppo), eight in a mine explosion remnants of ISIS in rural Manbaj, and one in clashes with government forces.

In rural Damascus, 11 civilians were killed, ten in shelling on Douma and the towns of al-Shaifuniya and Bait Sawa, and one shot by a regime sniper.

Furthermore, eight died in Idlib, six in shelling on Um Hamdan, Khan Sheikhoun, Areeha and Ahsam, and two in clashes with government forces.

In addition, six died in Homs, five in shelling on al-Waer neighbourhood and Ar-Rastan, and one in clashes with government forces. A civilian was also killed in shelling in Hama.

The killings of three civilians were documented in Deir Azzour, one shot by Kurdish militia, another as a result of lack of medicine due to the siege imposed by ISIS on al-Jura neighbourhood, and one in ISIS shelling on al-Jura. The killing of a civilian was also documented in Al-Hassaka, tortured in Kurdish militia prisons, two weeks after his arrest. An additional three civilians were killed in Daraa, two in a bomb explosion, and one in clashes with government forces.
