The death toll in Syria on Saturday 20/08/2016 reached 84 deaths including 19 children, 13 women and one killed under torture.
A staggering 53 civilians were killed in Aleppo; 46 in Russian airstrikes on the towns of Kafr Aleppo, Urum al-Kubra, Kafr Jum, Qabtan al-Jabal, the villages of Rusum Jadeed and Barna (rural Aleppo), and al-Julum and Saif al-Dawla neighbourhoods. In addition, three died in a mine explosion remnants of ISIS, two in international alliance shelling on the village of al-Shakheer (rural Manbaj), one shot by Kurdish militia, and one in clashes with government forces.
In rural Damascus, seven civilians were killed; four in shelling, two in clashes with government forces, and one shot by unknown assailants.
Furthermore, eight died in Homs, seven in shelling on al-Waer neighbourhood and the towns of al-Makramiya and ar-Rastan (rural Homs), and one under torture in a government prison.
A further five civilians died in Idlib, one in clashes with government forces, and four in shelling on the towns of Babulin and Adwan. An additional five died in Daraa, four in shelling on Daraa al-Balad and al-Sahari neighbourhoods, and one shot by unknown assailants.
