The death toll in Syria on Friday 19/08/2016 reached 83 deaths including seven children, 13 women, and one killed under torture.
Aleppo witnessed the killings of 30 civilians; 15 in shelling, eight in a mine explosion remnants of ISIS, three in mortar shelling on government controlled neighbourhoods, two in clashes with government forces, and two in clashes with ISIS.
In Homs, 23 civilians were killed in shelling on Talbisa, and the towns of al-Ghantou and al-Za’farana (rural Homs). In addition, nine died in Al-Hassaka, eight in shelling, and one in clashes with government forces.
Furthermore, eight died in rural Damascus; four in clashes with government forces, two in shelling, one as a result of lack of food and medicine due to the siege imposed on Douma by government forces, and one under torture in a government prison. An additional eight civilians died in Idlib, six in clashes with government forces, and two in shelling. A further seven died in Al-Hassaka, five civilians homes hit by an artillery shell on al-Azeeziya neighbourhood, and one in clashes with government forces.
The killings of three civilians were documented in Hama, two in shelling, and one in clashes with government forces. The killings of three civilians were also documented in Deir Azzour; one in clashes with government forces, another in shelling, and one shot by a regime sniper in Al-Hassaka. In addition, a civilian died in clashes with government forces in Daraa.
