The death toll in Syria on Thursday 18/08/2016 reached 75 deaths including five children and four women.
In Deir Azzour, 19 civilians were killed; 11 in shelling on the towns of Salihya al-Deer and al-Haseeniya, six in ISIS mortar shelling on al-Jura and al-Qusur, and one as a result of the lack of food and medicine due to the siege imposed by ISIS on al-Jura and al-Qusur neighbourhoods.
Idlib witnessed the killings of 14 civilians, 11 in shelling on Idlib, Khan Sheikhoun, and the road between Ma’ar Shamareen and Ma’rrat al-No’maan, and three in clashes with government forces.
In Aleppo, nine civilians were killed, eight in shelling on al-Salheen and Dahra Awad, and one in clashes with government forces.
Furthermore, seven died in rural Damascus; five in clashes with government forces, one in shelling, and one shot by a regime sniper. In addition, five died in Al-Hassaka, as a result of shelling targeting al-Nashwa neighbourhood. An additional five civilians were killed in clashes with government forces in Hama.
The killings of three civilians were documented in Daraa, two assassinated at the hands of unknown forces, and one shot by a sniper in Daraa al-Balad. The killings of two civilians were also documented in Homs, one in shelling, and the other shot by a regime sniper in al-Waer neighbourhood. The killings of another two civilians were also documented in Ar-Raqqah, as a result of international alliance airstrikes.
