The death toll in Syria on Wednesday 17/08/2016 reached 67 deaths including eight children, seven women and one killed under torture.
Aleppo witnessed the killings of 24 civilians; four in shelling – the majority in al-Qatraji, ten in mortar shelling on government controlled neighbourhoods, five in ISIS mine explosions on rural Manbaj, two in alliance airstrikes, one shot by Kurdish militia, and one under torture in Kurdish militia prisons.
In Idlib, 20 civilians were killed, 19 in shelling, and one in clashes with government forces. In addition, seven died in rural Damascus as a result of shelling, six in Arbeen, and one in Dariya.
Furthermore, ten died in Deir Azzour, six in ISIS shelling on government controlled al-Jura and al-Qusur neighbourhoods, three executed at the hands of ISIS under various charges, and one in a mine explosion remnant of ISIS. In Daraa, three civilians died; one executed at the hands of unknown assailants, another in shelling, and one in clashes with government forces.
The killing of a civilian was documented in Al-Hassaka, as a result of international alliance shelling. The killing of another civilian from Hama was documented, shot by Turkish border guards, and another in shelling in Homs.
