The death toll in Syria on Monday 01/08/2016 reached 77 deaths including 12 children, eight women and one killed under torture.
Aleppo witnessed the killings of 32 civilians; ten in shelling on Bab al-Nairub, al-Marja, and ar-Rashideen neighbourhoods and rural abu al-Thuhur (Idlib), 13 in mortar shelling on government controlled neighbourhoods, and four in clashes with government forces.
In Idlib, 16 civilians were killed; nine in clashes with government forces, six in shelling on rural abu al-Thuhur, and one in a motorcycle explosion at a checkpoint.
In rural Damascus, nine civilians were killed; four in clashes with government forces, four in shelling on Khan al-Shih camp, and a civilian’s vehicle targeted at Zakiya – Khan al-Sheeh road.
Furthermore, seven died in Deir Azzour; three in a mine explosion on one of the buses, three in clashes with government forces, and one executed at the hands of ISIS. In addition, two were executed at the hands of ISIS in Ar-Raqqah. A further three civilians were killed in Al-Hassaka, two in a landmine explosion, and one shot by the Turkish Gendarmerie.
The killings of six civilians were documented in clashes with government forces, five in Hama, and one in Homs. The killings of two civilians were also documented in Daraa, one in clashes with government forces, and one under torture in a government prison.
