The death toll in Syria on Saturday 02/07/2016 reached 76 deaths including 12 children, seven women, and one killed under torture.
In rural Damascus, 44 civilians were killed, 38 in shelling on Jirud, and six in shelling on Douma and Hawsh al-Dawahira.
Aleppo witnessed the killings of 13 civilians; ten in shelling on Saif al-Dawla neighbourhood and Haritan (rural Aleppo), one in a landmine explosion, another in clashes with government forces, and one under torture in a government prison.
In addition, nine died in Homs in shelling on Ar-Rastan and Talbisa (rural Homs).
Furthermore, four died in Idlib in clashes with government forces. A further two civilians were killed in Daraa, one in shelling on Jirud (rural Damascus) and the other while dismantling a bomb in front of a mosque. A civilian was also killed in an explosion in a building in al-Qaboun neighbourhood (Damascus).
The killings of three civilians were documented in Deir Azzour, one in clashes with government forces, another in shelling on al-Hamidiya neighbourhood, and one as a result of the lack of food and medicine due to the siege imposed by ISIS on government controlled neighbourhoods. The killing of a civilian was also documented in Al-Hassaka, shot by Kurdish militia.
