SHRC has documented the killing of 1784 civilians in June 2016, marking it out as the month with the highest number of victims in the year so far.
Amongst the victims documented, 274 were children, 170 were women, and 30 were killed under torture. Thirty-five were killed by Russian bombing, 49 were killed by bombing of the International Alliance, 147 were killed by ISIS- both in direct clashes with the group and executions carried out due to various accusations, 61 were killed by mortar rockets fired on districts which fall under regime control, 18 were killed by Kurdish militias, and three were killed due to ongoing siege.
In Aleppo, the number of victims reached 797 people, followed by Idlib in which 306 were killed and Deir Azzour in which 232 were killed.
The number of victims in rural Damascus was 149, in Ar-Raqqah it was 97, in Hama it was 66, and in Homs the number of victims were 62. In Daraa 35 were killed, whilst in the capital Damascus 17 were killed. In Al-Hasaka, 17 people met their fate, whilst in Lattakia seven were killed, and in al-Quneitra, one person was killed.
