The death toll in Syria on Saturday 21/05/2016 reached 44 deaths including eight children, seven women, and four killed under torture.
Aleppo witnessed the killings of 15 civilians; ten in shelling on the town of Arshaf, one in shelling on Haritan, one in clashes with government forces, another in clashes with ISIS, one shot by government forces, and one in mortar shelling on al-Furqan neighbourhood.
In Deir Azzour, eight civilians were killed; five in shelling, one executed at the hands of ISIS, and two under torture in a government prison.
Furthermore, five died in Idlib, three in clashes with government forces, and two in shelling.
In addition, four were killed in Homs, three in shelling and one in the targeting of government forces on a bakery. An additional four civilians died in rural Damascus; two shot by snipers in Al-Sheeh camp, one in shelling, and another during fighting between factions.
The killings of three civilians were documented in Daraa, one in shelling, and two under torture in a government prison. The killings of three civilians were also documented as a result of explosions carried out by ISIS in al-Qamshali (Al-Hassaka). A further two civilians were killed in clashes with government forces in Al-Latakia.
