The death toll in Syria on Tuesday 09/02/2016 reached 74 deaths including 12 children, 10 women, and one killed under torture.
In rural Damascus, 23 civilians were killed; 14 in clashes with pro-ISIS forces in the town of al-Damir, six in clashes with government forces, one in shelling, another as a result of starvation due to the siege imposed on Douma, and one under torture in a government prison.
Aleppo witnessed the killings of 18 civilians, 16 in shelling on the cities of Mari’, Tal Raf’at and the towns of Kafr Kalbeen, Kafr Khashir, Sandaf and Kafr Hamra (in the suburbs) – among them victims killed in shelling on the town of Afs (rural Idlib), and two in clashes with government forces.
An additional 18 civilians were killed in Idlib, 12 in shelling on al-Fatira, Talmans and Afs, and six in clashes with government forces.
Furthermore, six died in Daraa in shelling. A further four perished in Hama, two in shelling on the town of Talmans, and two in clashes with government forces. In addition, a civilian was killed in clashes with government forces in Homs.
The killings of two civilians were documented in shelling, one in Ar-Raqqah and the other in Deir Azzour. The killings of an additional two civilians were documented in Damascus, one in mortar shelling on Barza neighbourhood, and the other in shelling on Nawa (Daraa) a week ago.
