The death toll in Syria on Friday 29/01/2016 reached 57 deaths including nine children, three women, and one killed under torture.
Aleppo witnessed the killings of 19 civilians, 16 in shelling on the towns of Qabaseen, Mari’, Tal Raf’at and Manbaj (rural Aleppo) and Ba’ideen neighbourhood (Aleppo), one in clashes with government forces, one shot by Turkish forces while trying to enter Turkish territory, and another in mortar shelling on al-Sabeel neighbourhood (Aleppo).
In rural Damascus, ten civilians were killed; five in shelling, three in clashes with government forces, and one as a result of lack of food and medicine due to the siege imposed on al-Ma’damiya.
Furthermore, seven died in Deir Azzour, four in mortar shelling on al-Muthafeen neighbourhood after Friday prayers, and three in shelling on the villages of Mahimada and al-Salihiya.
In Idlib, six civilians were killed, three in shelling on the town of Kafr Takhareem on 28/01/2016, and three in clashes with government forces. An additional six civilians died in Daraa, five in clashes with government forces, and one under torture in a government prison.
The killings of four civilians were documented in shelling on the town of al-Buramadan (Ar-Raqqah). The killings of three civilians were documented in clashes with government forces in Hama. In addition, two from Al-Hassaka were killed in shelling, one in the village of Ajaja (rural Al-Hassaka), and the other in shelling on I’zaz (Aleppo).
