The death toll in Syria on Thursday 28/01/2016 reached 79 deaths including 19 children, and 11 women.
In Deir Azzour 19 civilians died, 11 in shelling on al-Mahimada, Gharaneej and al-Janeena, and eight civilians from the town of al-Zabari in the explosion of their vehicle as a result of a mine planted by ISIS in rural Aleppo.
Homs witnessed the killings of 13 civilians; ten in shelling targeting al-Ghantou, one shot by regime forces in Talbisa, and another due to the severe cold weather in Arsal camp.
Furthermore, 13 civilians died in Aleppo; seven in shelling on the towns of Hayaan, Taraheel and Ma’ar Sata al-Khan road, four in clashes with ISIS, and two in a cluster bomb remnants of Russian planes.
An additional 13 civilians died in Idlib, 12 in shelling on Kafr Takhareem and Nahleeya, and one in clashes with ISIS in rural Aleppo. In addition, nine died in rural Damascus, seven in shelling on Douma, Ma’damiyat al-Shaam and al-Marj, and two shot by government forces – one while trying to flee from the besieged city of al-Ma’damiya.
The killings of eight civilians were documented in Russian airstrikes on the village of Ajaja al-Jiya (Al-Hassaka). The killings of four civilians were also documented in clashes with government forces in Hama.
