The death toll in Syria on Thursday 21/01/2016 reached 44 deaths including 11 children, four women, and one killed under torture.
In the capital Damascus, 11 civilians were killed; five in clashes with government forces, four in shelling on Douma and Hazrama, and two as a result of the lack of food and medicine due to the siege imposed on Arbeen and Madaya.
An additional 11 civilians were killed in Aleppo, eight in shelling on Ahras road (rural Aleppo) and Karm al-Beek, and three in clashes with government forces.
Deir Azzour witnessed the killings of nine civilians, eight in shelling on the town of al-Khareeta and Mahimada, and one in clashes with government forces in rural Aleppo.
Furthermore, six died in Ar-Raqqah in Russian airstrikes, including a pregnant woman. In addition, two died in Hama, one in clashes with government forces, and the other under torture.
The killings of four civilians were documented in clashes with government forces, three in Daraa, and one in Idlib. A civilian was also killed in Homs, while attempting to dismantle a mine.
