The death toll in Syria on Wednesday 13/01/2016 reached 57 deaths including 14 children, and two women.
Aleppo witnessed the killings of 15 civilians, 14 in shelling on al-Zabdiya neighbourhood (Aleppo) and the cities of Hayaan, Tadif and Maskan (rural Aleppo), and one in clashes with government forces.
In the capital Damascus and its suburbs, 14 civilians were killed; five in mortar shelling on Jobar neighbourhood, two in clashes with government forces, one in a tunnel explosion, two executed at the hands of unknown assailants, one in shelling, and three due to the siege.
Furthermore, 11 died in Idlib; five in shelling – among them victims wounded from the targeting of Ma’rrat al-No’maan on Tuesday 12/01/2015, two in clashes with ISIS, three in an attempt to dismantle a mine, and one in clashes with government forces.
A further five civilians died in Deir Azzour, in shelling on al-Mayadeen and the town of Khashaam. In addition, two died in a landmine explosion in Al-Hassaka. A civilian from Ar-Raqqah was also shot by Turkish border guards.
The killings of three civilians were documented in Homs, two in clashes with government forces, and one shot by a sniper. The killings of four civilians were also documented in Daraa, three in shelling, and one in clashes with government forces. In addition, two died in Hama in shelling on the town of Harbanfasa.
