The death toll in Syria on Tuesday 05/01/2016 reached 21 deaths including four children, a woman, and four killed under torture.
In the capital Damascus and its suburbs, seven civilians were killed; three in clashes with government forces, one in shelling, two as a result of severe malnutrition caused by the siege imposed on Madaya and Baqeen, and one under torture in a government prison.
Aleppo witnessed the killings of four civilians; one in mortar shelling on al-Sheikh Maqsood neighbourhood, another in previous shelling on Andan, and two under torture in a government prison.
Furthermore, four died in Daraa in shelling on the city of Abta’ (Daraa). A further five civilians died in Deir Azzour; one in shelling, three executed at the hands of ISIS, and one under torture in a government prison. In addition, a civilian was assassinated at the hands of unknown assailants in Homs.
