The death toll in Syria on Monday 21/12/2015 reached 58 deaths including five children, six women, and one killed under torture.
Aleppo witnessed the killings of 28 civilians; 16 in shelling – the majority in al-Baab (rural Aleppo), six executed at the hands of ISIS, three in mortar shelling on the government controlled Nile Street, two in clashes with government forces, and one shot by Turkish forces while trying to enter Turkish territory.
In the capital Damascus and its suburbs, 13 civilians were killed; six in shelling on the towns of Bait Naim, Harsta, and Zamlaka, three in an explosion at Yarmouk camp, two in clashes with government forces, one in mortar shelling on Barza neighbourhood (Damascus), and one under torture in a government prison.
Furthermore, 11 civilians died in Idlib, nine in shelling (four in the town of Ar-Rami, four lifted from the rubble in Idlib after a raid on Sunday 20/12/2015, and one in shelling on Khan Sheikhoun), and two in clashes with government forces.
In addition, two perished in Daraa, one in clashes with government forces, and the other in clashes with government forces. An additional two civilians died in Homs, one shot by a regime sniper, and the other in shelling on the village of western al-Teeba.
The killing of a civilian was documented in a mine explosion on Ar-Raqqah, and another in shelling on Hama.
