SHRC has documented 51 massacres which took place in Syria during November 2015.
The most prominent massacres of the month were committed by Russian war planes, including the following:
– 5/11/2015: Russian war planes targeted the city of Albukamal and killed 84 civilians.
– 29/11/2015: Russian war planes targeted the popular market of Areeha, killing 31 civilians
– 20/11/2015: Russian war planes targeted Az-Zabari in rural Deir Ezzour, killing 25 civilians
– 2/112015: Russian war planes target a bakery in al-Qaryatain in rural Homs, killing 26 people
Syrian Regime forces were responsible for 52% of the massacres which took place this month (27 massacres), followed by Russian war planes which were responsible for 33.3% of the massacres (amounting to 17), followed by the international alliance, Kurdish militias, and unknown groups which were responsible for 3.9% (amounting to two massacres each). ISIS committed one massacre, whilst no massacres were committed by the armed opposition forces.
Aleppo and its suburbs witnessed the highest number of massacres, with 13 taking place in the province, followed by nine which took place in rural Damascus, and seven which took place in Idlib.
