The death toll in Syria on Thursday 17/09/2015 reached 166 deaths including 28 children, 16 women and two killed under torture.
A staggering 71 civilians were killed in Aleppo, among them 43 killed on Wednesday 16/09/2015; in shelling on the neighbourhods of al-Mashad, where 20 were killed, al-Maghayir neighbourhood where nine civilians were killed and al-Sukari neighbourhood where four were killed.
In addition, 17 were killed in the shelling carried out on Thursday 17/09/2015 on the neighbourhoods of al-Kalasa, al-Salheen, al-Shi’at (in the city), Kafr Naha and Khan al-Asal (in the suburbs).
Furthermore, seven died in mortar shelling on areas under government control, two were executed at the hands of ISIS, one in clashes with government forces, and a child was run over by a government forces vehicle, while rescuing one of their wounded in Salah al-Deen neighbourhood. The total numbers of child victims in Aleppo were 20 children and eight women.
In Damascus ad its suburbs, 34 civilians were killed; 14 in clashes with government forces, 18 in shelling on Douma, one as a result of the siege imposed on eastern Ghouta and one under torture in a government prison.
Daraa witnessed the killings of 20 civilians, 19 in shelling on Busrat al-Shaam and one under torture in a government prison.
In Deir Azzour, 19 civilians were killed; 15 of them – their bodies remains were found in a mass grave belonging to the families of the village of Abu al-Hamam, after ISIS allowed them to return, and four were executed at the hands of ISIS under charges of banditry.
Furthermore, 15 civilians perished in Ar-Raqqah, in several airstrikes by warplanes on the city.
The killings of three civilians were documented in Idlib, one shot by unknown assailants and two in shelling on rural Idlib.
The killings of two civilians were also documented in Homs in shelling – one of the was a child.
An additional two were run over by vehicles belonging to the Kurdish militias in Al-Hassaka.
