The death toll in Syria on Sunday 09/08/2015 reached 83 deaths including 12 children, six women and one killed under torture.
In Idlib, 31 civilians were killed; 15 in airstrikes on the town of Zardana, Ain Laruz, Baylun and Kafr Ameem (rural Idlib), 12 in ISIS shelling on the village of Um Hawsh (rural Aleppo) – all from the villages of Idlib, two in a cluster bomb explosion and two others in clashes with regime forces in Sahl al-Ghaab.
In the capital Damascus and its suburbs, 15 civilians were killed; seven in clashes with government forces, two when regime forces blew up a building, four in an ambush (news of their death was reached through a person leaving a regime prison), one in shelling on Jobar neighbourhood and a woman shot by Turkish gendarmerie forces, while trying to enter Turkish territory.
An additional 15 civilians were killed in Aleppo; six in clashes with ISIS, three in shelling, two in mortar shelling on areas under government control, one shot by the Kurdish civil defence in Jarablis and three in ISIS shelling in the village of Um Hawsh.
Furthermore, 11 died in Deir Azzour; three in clashes with ISIS in rural Aleppo, two in clashes with government forces, five executed at the hands of ISIS in al-Bukamal and one in mortar shelling on al-Jura neighbourhood (Deir Azzour).
The killings of six civilians were documented in Daraa, four in bombing of explosive barrels and two in clashes with government forces.
The killings of three civilians were also documented in Homs; one in shelling, another in clashes with government forces and one under torture in a government prison. In addition, the killings of two civilians were documented in Hama in clashes with government forces in Sahl al-Ghaab.
