Meningitis Kills Baby in Aleppo

8-August-2015 By admin2

yusuf haj huran

The Iman camp close to the village of Shamareen in northern rural Aleppo witnessed the death of nine month old Yusuf Haj Huran after he contracted Meningitis.

The death of the infant came in the midst of a heat wave witnessed by Syria in the last ten days, as well as the lack of medical care, and especially in camps where the displaced live.

This death is the first of its kind in Aleppo. On 3/4/2014, Mu’adamiyat al-Sham of the Eastern Ghouta in rural Damascus witnessed the death of the child Lu’ay due to his contraction of Meningitis and it was the first case of death due to this illness in rural Damascus.
