ISIS has implemented further illegal acts of killing, using unprecedented methods, new to the organisation itself.
Within the last four days, ISIS has released videos documenting a number of crimes committed by its members.
In a video released on 22/6/2015 named “And if you return, we will return”, three different acts of killing using new methods are portrayed. It is thought that these crimes were committed in Iraq as the victims are Iraqi, although the videos did not mention where they were recorded.
The first clip shows four people whose hands are tied up, and whom ISIS accused of being agents of the Iraqi government, put into a car. A member of ISIS then fires a shell at the car, causing it to burst into flames and burn those within.
In the same recording, four people are put into a cage lifted by a large crane. The cage is then lowered into a pool – which seems to be in a palace or mansion- until those inside drown. Cameras were placed inside the cage so that the moments of death which took place under water could be recorded.
In the same video, seven people are shown with a cable connected to an explosive tied around their necks. An ISIS soldier then blows up the explosive from afar.
On 24/6/2015, ISIS published images of members of the organisation in Ar-Raqqah killing a man by throwing him off a building several storeys high. It claimed that this punishment was a religious punishment, and accused the man of homosexuality.
On 22/6/2015, ISIS published images in which members beat a man in Tadmur, rural Homs, whom it accused of selling wine
And on 23/6/2015, ISIS bombed shrines in the Ghouta of Tadmur, claiming that they were “Polytheistic Shrines”. The shrines destroyed included the Mohammed Ali shrine and the shrine of Abu Bahaa al-Deen.
