Social media outlets belonging to ISIS have published a video named “repent before we overcome you- the state of Damascus”, in which a group of fighters from the “Army of Islam” and the Nusra Front- whom according to the video were fighting ISIS- are caught in an ambush and executed.
In the video, 12 people are shown (wearing the orange suits used by ISIS) each with a masked man (wearing the same clothes all ISIS executors wear) behind him. Behind every masked man is another man holding a rifle. The men holding the rifles did not play any part in the videos.
Four of the victims speak before their execution, three of whom (according to the video they are A’laa Walid al-Mor’ib from Idlib, Hussein Jasim Mohammed from rural Idlib and Yaman Zuheir al-Sakkaf) identify themselves as fighters from the “Army of Islam” whilst the fourth, Mohammed Jamal from Banzat in Tunisia, said that he worked with the Nusra Front and that his leader, Abu Maria al-Harawi, had incited him to fight ISIS.
One of the masked men then speaks, whilst holding a knife and the head of his victim. He addresses his speech to Zahran Aloush, the “Army of Islam” leader, describing him as an apostate, and threatening that whosoever fights ISIS will meet the same fate.
At the end of the speech the camera shows the heads of the victims cut off and placed on top of their heads.
