The death toll in Syria on Saturday 23/05/2015 reached 55 deaths including, 14 children, five women and one killed under torture.
In the capital Damascus and its suburbs, eight civilians were killed; three in clashes with government forces, three shot by a regime sniper, one died from wounds sustained in an explosion carried out by ISIS in Jobar neighbourhood (Damascus) and another as a result of lack of food and medicine due to the siege imposed on eastern Ghouta.
Deir Azzour witnessed the killings of 15 civilians in bombing of explosive barrels on al-Hamidiya neighbourhood (Deir Azzour). Among the victims were eight children and a woman.
In Aleppo, 11 civilians perished; six in bombing of explosive barrels, where some of them were taken out of the rubble two days after the shelling, three in clashes with government forces and two in mortar shelling on areas under government forces control in Aleppo.
Furthermore, six were killed in Homs; three in clashes with government forces, two slaughtered at the hands of members loyal to the government forces and one in an ambush carried out by ISIS.
An additional six civilians were killed in Hama; three in shelling, one in a mine explosion, one in clashes with government forces and another in international alliance shelling on the town of al-Tawama (rural Aleppo).
The killings of four civilians were documented in Idlib, two in clashes with government forces and two in shelling. The killings of three civilians were also documented in Daraa, two in shelling and one under torture a government prison. In addition, two were killed in Al-Hassaka, at the hands of ISIS under charges of supporting the ruling regime.
