The death toll in Syria on Thursday 14/05/2105 reached 44 deaths including, eight children, four women and one killed under torture.
In the capital Damascus and its suburbs, 16 civilians were killed; 13 in shelling on the town of Basima, Ain Tarman and Khan al-Sheikh – where their car was targeted with a tank shell, two were killed in clashes with government forces and one in mortar shelling on Damascus.
Aleppo witnessed the killings of 11 civilians; eight in shelling (four in al-Salheen neighbourhood and four in the town of al-‘Is in southern rural Aleppo on Wednesday), one in clashes with government forces, one in clashes with ISIS and another under torture in Al-Nusra front prison (a faction of the opposition).
In Homs, eight civilians were killed; a family of four (among them two children) was slaughtered with knives at the hands of government forces, three died in a mine explosion at one of the fronts, one in clashes with ISIS and a member of the Shaam preachers Association was also killed at the hands of ISIS.
Furthermore, four were killed in Idlib, three in shelling on Khan Sheikhoun and one in clashes with government forces. Moreover, two civilians perished in Deir Azzour; one executed at the hands of ISIS and the other under torture in a government prison.
The killing of a civilian was documented in Daraa in bombing of explosive barrels and one in Hama in clashes with government forces. The killing of another civilian was also documented in Al-Quneitra, whilst covering one of the battles.
In addition a civilian was killed in Ar-Raqqah, executed at the hands of ISIS, under charges of organising a coup against the organisation and apostasy.
