Daily Report on Violations of Human Rights in Syria: 12/04/2015

The death toll in Syria on Sunday 12/04/2015 reached 71 deaths including, seven children, nine women and three killed under torture.

In the capital Damascus and its suburbs, eight civilians were killed; three shot by a regime sniper, four in shelling on Ain Tarma and one died after developing Jaundice, caused by the lack of food and medicine, due to the siege imposed on eastern Ghouta.

A staggering 43 civilians were killed in Aleppo, 37 of which killed in shelling on various areas in Aleppo: five in al-Ma’adi neighbourhood, six in al-Sha’ar neighbourhood, four in al-Nairub neighbourhood, three in Salah al-Deen and one in Nile street on 11/04/15. It has been impossible to access the names of the victims due to the intensity of the bombing and disconnection of Internet from the city for 20 days. On Sunday, 11 civilians were killed after a school in al-Mashad neighbourhood was targeted. Among the victims were four women and a child. Furthermore four children were killed in shelling on al-Nairub neighbourhood, as well as four children in al-Sheikh Kadar and the city of al-Baab and two in Bustan al-Qasr and Manbaj. In addition, six were killed in clashes with government forces.

In Idlib, five civilians perished in shelling on the cities of Idlib and Ma’rrat al-No’maan. Moreover, four were killed in Daraa, three in shelling and one shot by a regime sniper.

The killings of four civilians were documented in Deir Azzour; three were in their car at the time of a landmine explosion and one executed at the hands of ISIS under charges of apostasy.

The killings of three civilians were also documented in Hama in shelling on the village of al-Ma’damiya near Aqirabat. As well as four in Homs, three under torture in government prisons and one executed at the hands of committees loyal to the regime.
