The death toll in Syria on Monday 02/03/2014 reached 44 deaths including four children, two women and three killed under torture.
In the capital Damascus and its suburbs 11 civilians were killed; three assassinated at al-Midan cornish at 12:30, where several shots were fired on them and then fled, two were shot by a regime sniper, two in shelling, one in a bomb explosion, another in clashes with government forces and two died as a result of lack of food and medicine due to the siege imposed on eastern Ghouta and southern Damascus by government forces.
Daraa witnessed the killings of 14 civilians; seven in explosive barrel bombing on the town of Ibta’, five in clashes with government forces in rural Daraa, one from wounds sustained in a car bomb explosion and one under torture in a government prison.
In Homs seven civilians perished; five in fighting between two factions of the opposition; Al-Nusra front and Hazm movement, one died in shelling and one under torture in a government prison.
Furthermore five were killed in Aleppo; two in shelling, one in fighting between two factions of the opposition; Al-Nusra front and Hazm movement, another was found handcuffed and killed on the road to the village of Kafr Nasih and a child was accidentally shot.
In Idlib three civilians were killed; one was killed on the Ikrada road, a civilian murdered at the hands of unknown assailants and one killed under torture in a government prison.
The killings of an additional three civilians were documented in Hama; two in shelling and one in clashes with government forces. The killing of a civilian was also documented in Deir Azzour in clashes with government forces.
