The death toll in Syria on Sunday 22/02/2015 reached 54 deaths including ten children, six women and four killed under torture.
In the capital Damascus and its suburbs 12 were killed; eight in bombing of explosive barrels on Douma, two died as a result of lack of food and medicine due to the siege imposed on eastern Ghouta by government forces for more than two years, one was shot by a regime sniper and another in clashes with government forces.
Daraa witnessed the killings of 13 civilians; four in bombing of explosive barrels, three in clashes with government forces, a seven month old girl died as a result of the severe cold weather, one was shot by a regime sniper and four were killed under torture in government prisons and security centres.
In Idlib ten civilians perished; nine in explosive barrel bombings on the cities of Khan Sheikhun, Kafr Sajna and Sakiyat village and one died in clashes with government forces in rural Aleppo.
Furthermore five were killed n Aleppo; four in clashes with government forces and one in shelling on Hiyan in the suburbs. An additional five civilians were killed in Al-Quneitra in bombing of explosive barrels on the town of Ain Tina.
Four civilians were killed in Al-Hassaka; three in shelling of their homes in Salima village and one shot by the YPG.
The killings of two civilians were documented in Homs; one in shelling and the other in clashes with government forces. A civilian from Ar-Raqqah was killed in Douma (rural Damascus) as a result of airstrikes on the city.
The killing of a civilian was also documented in Hama and another in Deir Azzour in clashes with government forces.
