The death toll in Syria on Saturday 21/02/2015 reached 99 deaths including 24 children, 15 women and a civilian killed under torture.
In the capital Damascus and its suburbs 21 civilians were killed; 16 in air strikes on Douma and Arbeen, two were shot by regime snipers, a civilian was shot by unknown assailants and one died as a result of lack of medicine due to the siege imposed on eastern Ghouta for more than two years.
A staggering 48 civilians were killed in Aleppo; where a massacre was discovered against the families of the villages of Ratyan and Hardatnin (rural Aleppo), after the withdrawal of government forces from the villages. The total number of deaths reached 33 civilians and the deaths of 15 others were documented previously. Additionally 11 civilians were killed in bombing of explosive barrels on al-Sakhour neighbourhood in the city and four perished in clashes with government forces.
Al-Latakia witnessed the killings of 12 civilians; among them were eight in bombing of explosive barrels on the town of Kansba in Jabal al-Akrad.
In Daraa ten civilians perished; eight in shelling on the city of Da’il, a civilian was shot by a regime sniper and one was killed in clashes with government forces.
Furthermore three were killed in Idlib; two in shelling and one in clashes with government forces.
The killings of three civilians were documented in Deir Azzour; two in clashes with government forces and a civilian was shot by a regime sniper. The killing of a civilian was also documented in Hama in shelling and another in Al-Hassaka under torture in government prisons.
