The death toll in Syria on Thursday 29/01/2015 reached 44 deaths including seven children, five women and four under torture.
In the capital Damascus and its suburbs 12 were killed; seven in shelling among them two women and two children, two in clashes with government forces, one shot by a regime sniper and two under torture in government prisons.
A staggering 23 civilians were killed in Aleppo; 17 in bombing of the sheep market in al-Baab among them ten who remain unidentified and three died as a result of bronchiolitis due to the cold weather and the use of primitive heating. In addition two were killed as a result of mortar shelling on Salahadin district and one shot by a regime sniper in al-Ashrafiya neighbourhood.
Hama witnessed the killings of five civilians in explosive barrel bombings on the outskirts of Kafr Zeita among them were two women. Furthermore two were killed in Daraa under torture in government prisons and security centres
The killing of a civilian was documented in Deir Azzour in warplane bombing and another in Homs from wounds sustained in shelling.
SHRC have documented the names of the victims which can be found in the Arabic section however the names of the ten victims of al-Baab shelling have not yet been reached.
