The total death toll in Syria on Saturday 10/1/2014 reached 41 deaths including six children, a woman, three under torture and three due to the cold weather.
In the capital Damascus and its suburbs eight were killed; three due to the cold and lack of heating materials and medical supplies due to the siege imposed on eastern Ghouta by government forces, among them were two children. Two children died in bombings of explosive barrels on rural Daraa where they both lived and one died from wounds sustained in clashes with government forces.
Aleppo witnessed the killings of 21 civilians; 19 in two car explosions at the barrier of the village of Musqan (northern rural Aleppo), among them were four from the civil defence. Another two civilians were killed in an explosion when their car was targeted with a guided mine in Darra Azza and one when his car was targeted with a shell in the city of Haritan (rural Aleppo).
In Daraa five civilians perished; three in shelling among them a child, one in clashes and one under torture in a government prison.
Furthermore three were killed in Idlib; a child and his mother due to shelling on the town of Sarmeen and one in clashes with government forces.
The killings of an additional three civilians were documented in Homs; one shot by a regime sniper and two under torture in government prisons and security centres. The killing of another civilian was documented in Hama due to an explosion of a mine.
