The total death toll in Syria on Thursday 1/01/2015 reached 40 deaths including nine children, four women and one killed under torture.
In the capital Damascus and its suburbs seven were killed; three in shelling, two in clashes and two their cause of death is yet to be reached.
Aleppo witnessed the killings of 19 civilians; 14 died due to the shells that fell on New Aleppo neighbourhood and Al-Andalus Street, three in shelling, one in clashes with government forces and one was shot by a regime sniper.
In Hama three were killed; one in shelling, another in clashes with government forces and one shot by a regime sniper.
An additional three civilians were killed in Homs; two in shelling, one in clashes with government forces and the use of incendiary napalm bombs in bombing al-Waer neighbourhood was also recorded, which are internationally forbidden.
Furthermore five were killed in Idlib; four died when a shell hit their car in New Aleppo neighbourhood in the city of Aleppo and one under torture in government prisons.
The killings of two civilians were documented in Daraa among them a woman. A civilian also died in Ar-Raqqah from his wounds sustained in previous shelling.
