The total death toll in Syria on Wednesday 24/12/2014 reached 47 deaths including eight children three women and two under torture.
In the capital Damascus and its suburbs 20 were killed; 11 in the town of Zabdeen shot by government forces while trying to flee to the capital among them were six children and three women. A child was also shot by a regime sniper in the city of al-Zabdani. Additionally four were killed in clashes with government forces, two died in shelling and two died as a result of toxic gases which were fired on the city of Harasta.
Daraa witnessed the killings of eight civilians; five in explosive barrel bombing on the town of Basr al-Hareer, one in clashes with government forces, one shot by a regime sniper and one under torture in security centres after enduring two years of imprisonment.
In Idlib six civilians perished; five in shelling on the town of Ma’saran and one under torture in government prisons.
An additional six were killed in Aleppo; five in warplane bombing and one in the fall of a shell in al-Siryan neighbourhood in the city.
Furthermore four from Hama were killed in shelling on the town of al-Habit (rural Idlib).
The killings of two civilians were documented in Al-Quneitra due to warplane bombing on the town of Nabgh al-Sakhr. A civilian was also killed in Ar-Raqqah, executed at the hands of ISIS.
