The total death toll in Syria on Thursday 18/12/2014 reached 23 deaths including four children, two women and two killed under torture.
In the capital Damascus and its suburbs seven were killed; one was stabbed with knives at the hands of unknown assailants, one died in shelling, two in clashes with government forces and one was shot by a regime sniper while on his way to take one of the food baskets in Yarmouk camp. Additionally two civilians died as a result of lack of food and medicine due to the siege imposed by government forces on eastern Ghouta.
In Aleppo seven were killed; three were found dead and handcuffed near Bait Bashud village (rural Tartus), they were a man and his wife and their grandchild. Two were killed in clashes with government forces, one died in the explosion of a rocket, remnants of government forces bombing, which had not exploded and another as a result of mortar shelling in al-Haydariya neighbourhood.
Daraa witnessed the killings of four civilians; two children in shelling, one in clashes with government forces and one under torture in Palestine branch in Damascus.
Furthermore two civilians perished in Hama; one in clashes with government forces and one was found killed at a junction in his village ‘Latamin’, after the advancement of government forces of the road leading to it.
An additional two civilians were killed in Deir Azzour in clashes with government forces and the PKK.
The killing of a civilian was documented in Idlib due to shelling and one from al-Joulan from the village of Majdal Shams died under torture in Palestine branch.
