The total death toll in Syria on Tuesday 16/12/2014 reached 102 deaths including 13 children, 14 women and one killed under torture.
A staggering 33 civilians were killed in Idlib; 32 due to warplane bombing on the city of Ma’rrat al-No’maan, where 15 were killed and Orient Hospital was also targeted in the city of Kafr Nabl, where two medical staff were wounded and 17 civilians killed. In addition substantial material damage was caused to the hospital, including: the disabling of kidney dialysis equipment, incubators and oxygen devices, which resulted in the hospital becoming out of service.
In Homs 22 civilians were killed; two were shot by a regime sniper, 19 as a result of warplane bombing on the besieged al-Waer neighbourhood, which demolished an entire residential tower and among the victims were two women and two children. Additionally one was also killed in warplane bombing on Modern Medicine Hospital in the city of al-Mayadeen (Deir Azzour).
Daraa witnessed the killings of 18 civilians; four in shelling, one in clashes with government forces and 13 of them, their bodies were found in the eastern district of al-Sheikh Miskeen, where government forces executed, abused and then burned their bodies before withdrawing from the neighbourhood.
In Deir Azzour 12 were killed; two in shelling on al-Quriya neighbourhood and ten died in the targeting of the Modern Medicine Hospital in the city. The targeting was with two consecutive air strikes; the first targeted the main hospital door when people gathered to rescue the wounded, followed by the second raid, which led to the occurrence of the massacre.
Furthermore 14 civilians perished in Aleppo; one in shelling, three as a result of ISIS shelling on Ain Al-Arab and ten in clashes with government forces on al-Malah and Handarat fronts.
The killings of two civilians were documented in Hama; one in Damascus as a result of warplane bombing.
