The death toll in Syria on Monday 25/08/2014 reached 77 deaths including five children, 12 women and three killed under torture.
In the capital Damascus and its suburbs six civilians were killed; including two killed in clashes, four as a result of shelling (three in the shelling on al-Zabdani), one was killed yesterday in the city of Douma and was found today under the rubble.
In Aleppo and its suburbs the total death toll reached 33 civilians; 25 were killed in shelling on Turkmen Barah where 11 civilians were killed and in the town of Dabiq, where seven members of one family died due to steric missiles and two were killed in Karam Humad and the others in various places in the city. Additionally a civilian was shot by a regime sniper, as well as eight civilians in the province were killed at the hands of non- government gunmen among them a family including the parents and their two children died as a result of a mortar shell from an unknown source. Furthermore a woman was found murdered and her death was documented by a forensic doctor, another civilian was killed in the town of Ahtimilat by a shell sourced from the opposition forces and a woman and her nephew were killed by a gas shell in the neighbourhood of al-Mal’ab al-Baladi in the city which is located within areas under the government’s control.
In Daraa 18 civilians were killed; 15 members of the opposition forces were killed in an ambush by government forces in between the towns of Zamreen and Um al-Awsaj and al-Hara (Rural Daraa) yesterday. In addition two were killed as a result of shelling and one was killed in clashes with government forces.
Nine civilians were killed in Idlib; one as a result of shelling and the other eight were killed in clashes between government and opposition forces.In Hama five were killed; one in an ambush by government forces, one was killed in clashes with government forces, one as a result of shelling and two were killed under torture in security prisons.
It has been documented the killing of three civilians in Deir Azzour; two children were killed by a mortar shell which was dropped on the city’s neighbourhoods and one was killed under torture in government security prisons.
It has also been documented the killings of three in Homs; two women were killed in shelling and one was killed in clashes with government forces.
It has been recalled that today morning a car bomb exploded near Bab al-Salama crossing next to Karaj “Sajo”, where three minor injuries have been recorded among civilians and some material damage; no deaths occurred as the car exploded outside al-Karaj.
