The death toll in Syria on Sunday 24/08/2014 reached 48 deaths including ten children, six women, two killed under torture and two at the hands of ISIS.
In the capital Damascus and its suburbs eight civilians were killed including four as a result of shelling on Douma and Deir al-Asafeer, three due to random shooting by the Republican Guards at al-Tal and one was killed in clashes with government forces at Arbeen front.
In Aleppo and its suburbs ten civilians were killed; five died as a result of shelling including three children and two women. In addition a civilian was killed by a mortar shell fired by ISIS and four were killed in clashes at several fronts.
Sixteen civilians were killed in Ar-Raqqah due to bombing of warplanes on areas surrounding al-Naeem in the city including a child and two women. Additionally in Hama four civilians were killed; three as a result of shelling including a child and a woman and one was killed in clashes with government forces.
Four civilians were killed in Daraa; two as a result of shelling, one as a result of clashes and one under torture in security prisons.
It has been documented the killing of two civilians in Homs; one was shot by a government sniper and one was killed in clashes. It has also been documented the killing of a woman in Al-Hassaka after she was shot in the neck which led to paralysis and one was killed under torture in Deir Azzour.
