The death toll in Syria on Thursday 21/08/2014 reached 51 deaths including seven children, two women and 18 killed under torture.
In the capital Damascus and its suburbs 20 civilians were killed; two were killed as a result of shelling, two were shot by government snipers, a civilian died due to the lack of medical supplies due to the siege, four died in clashes with government forces, seven died under torture in security prisons and four others died as a result of the fall of mortar shells on the area of al-Sha’laan.
In Aleppo 11 were killed; including nine as a result of bombing of explosive barrels and cluster bombs on the suburbs among them were five children, one was shot by the government forces during clashes and one was killed under torture in security prisons.
Six civilians were killed in Homs; four were killed under torture, a civilian died as a result of the shelling and one was killed in clashes with government forces.
Additionally five were killed in Hama; two as a result of clashes, a civilian was killed in a landmine explosion implanted in a taxi he was travelling in, a child was shot by a sniper and another child was killed as a result of shelling.
It has been documented the killing of three in Idlib; two were killed under torture and one in a raid on the town.
In addition the killings of three civilians have also been documented in Daraa; two as a result of shelling among them was a woman and one was killed under torture.
The killings of two civilians have been documented in Al-Quneitra; one was killed under torture in Banias in the province of Tartus.
